Executive Director
Dr. Virgil Goodwine is the Chair of the Humanities and Performing Arts School at Wilberforce University.
A native of Dayton, OH, Virgil received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Central State University, a Master of Science in Education in Music Education from the University of Dayton, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education in Leadership for Higher Education from Capella University as a graduate with distinction.
Dr. Goodwine has performed with a variety of groups, including the Detroit Pistons Drumline, the Detroit Lions Drumline, the University of Dayton Drumline, percussion ensemble, and both concert and jazz bands, the New Horizons Community Band, the Central State University Drumline, and percussion ensemble, as well as hosted a plethora of Drum Clinics and Competitions throughout the Midwest for over 15 years.
Dr. Goodwine is a member of the Percussive Arts Society, National Association for Music Education, Michigan Schools Band and Orchestra Association, the Band Room Nation Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, and an endorsee of Pearl/Adams Instruments, Vic Firth Drumsticks, Remo Drumheads, Balter Mallets, and Zildjian Cymbals.
